E3 2019: Own The Night With VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE – BLOODLINE 2 Gameplay Footage
Despite not selling a huge number of copies, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines has developed a massive cult following since it was released all the way back in 2004. So it’s hardly surprising that the sequel is generating an unprecedented amount of hype, with the new gameplay footage revealed at E3 bound to have fans shaking with anticipation.
Played from a first-person perspective, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will take place after an event known as the Mass Embrace turns a large number of humans into vampires. As a newly transformed vampire, you will be privy to a number of abilities seen in the footage below, including enhanced speed and strength, but seeing as you will still be adjusting to your new life as a creature of the night, it may take some time and practice for you to truly master these new talents, but in the meantime, you’ll also have to drink plenty of blood from the residents of Seattle if you want to keep your strength up. A new gameplay mechanic will also allow you to sense the emotions of the humans you hunt, which may come in handy if you need to know which ones will make easy prey and which will put up a fight.
And while you new vampiric abilities will obviously play a key role, good old fashioned gunplay will still be present, as we also see from the footage that you’ll be brandishing a shotgun. Because even vampires need to pack heat from time to time. Either way, we can expect a mix of shooting mechanics and brutal melee combat, which should make for a very entertaining gameplay experience.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is being developed by Hardsuit Labs, the team behind Blacklight: Retribution, and will be published by White Wolf’s parent company, Paradox Interactive, in March 2020. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
