Duke Nukem Returns in BULLETSTORM: DUKE OF SWITCH EDITION
If you never played Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition when it was originally released on the PS4 and Xbox One back in 2017, you might be pleased to learn that it will soon be heading to the Nintendo Switch, and yes, Duke Nukem will be included.
An enhanced remaster of the gore-soaked 2011 shooter, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition features everything which was included in the original game in addition to an assortment of new features, including updated visuals, all previously released DLC, six new maps for the Echo Mode, and the newly included Overkill Mode.
However, the biggest selling point of the Full Clip Edition is that it lets you play as iconic video game character Duke Nukem throughout the campaign, with veteran voice actor Jon St. John once again recording lines from a script which perfectly integrates the character into the game’s story. His inclusion was met with universal praise, so it comes as no surprise that the Switch version of Bulletstorm will be called the Duke of Switch Edition. Interestingly, this will actually be the Duke’s first appearance on a Nintendo system since Critical Mass on the DS back in 2011, and we’re sure Nintendo fans will welcome him back with open arms.
Bulletstorm was originally developed by People Can Fly along with Epic Games (yes, the makers of Fortnite), and while the initial release was published by EA, the Full Clip Edition was published by Gearbox. The game stirred up quite a stir due to its gratuitous violence and gore, with Fox News even asking if it was the worst video game in the world. We’re all about gratuitous violence around these parts, so we highly recommend Bulletstorm to our readers.
A firm release date for Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition has yet to be confirmed, so keep an eye on Gearbox’s website for future updates.
