You Can Step Into The Creepy World of The Medium This December
It’s always a good thing when Bloober Team has a new horror game to release. Their next big one will be out before the year is over. Today Bloober Team has announced that The Medium will launch on December 10th.
The game puts you in the role of a Medium, who can exist in two worlds at the same time. This is the physical world and the spirit world, each of which looks rather different. The trick is that the game renders both worlds at the same time, which means that you can instantly swap between the two with no loading screens. You’ll need to do this quite a bit too, as it’s how you’ll solve puzzles and hopefully survive encounters with a monster known as The Maw.
The new trailer also shows off some of the creepy environments we can expect to explore, which does a pretty great job getting you easily invested in the world. Combine that with a piece from the soundtrack, which you can actually download freely on the Steam page, and The Medium is setting itself up to be an audiovisual treat. Hopefully, it’s one that also plays well.
Interestingly enough, this is going to be the third game Bloober Team will release in these last three months of 2020. Around Halloween they have Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition coming out, a VR version of last year’s horror hit Blair Witch. Then in November, to line up with the new consoles releases, they’re releasing Observer: System Redux, a total remake of their cyberpunk horror game. It’s a busy few months for the developer.
If this all sounds good to you then you can pick up The Medium when it launches on PC and Xbox Series X on December 10th, 2020. You can add it to your wishlist here.
