World of Darkness Stories Coming Back In House, New Publisher Taking Over
World of Darkness has had a bit of a rocky history with its table top games over the last couple of years. After Paradox chose to completely dissolve White Wolf after they attempted to call a real life event in Chechnya a vampire conspiracy, they are now taking World of Darkness back in-house.
For a while all of the story writing for World of Darkness was done by Modiphius Entertainment, but as of today its being brought back into Paradox. Instead, Paradox will handle all the major stories in the universe, specifically noting both Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Paradox will be working with their creative director Justin Achilli to work on the foundational material and core table top RPG books.
In addition to this, Paradox will also be working with publisher Renegade Games Studio. Their role will be to broaden the IP, offering up companion TTRPG books along with working with other companies to make more works set in the IP. According to the press release, they’ll be working on everything that falls outside of the “core setting.” However, outside of the aforementioned Vampire and Werewolf, it’s not quite sure what makes up the core setting yet.
While there isn’t anything available right now, you can head to World of Darkness’ website to keep up with the latest releases and get the upcoming free companion piece to Vampire: The Masquerade.
