Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Announced, Also Known As Left 40k Dead
Fatshark, the studio behind Warhammer: Vermintide, revealed today that there is a new upcoming Warhammer game. Set in the Warhammer 40k universe, this latest entry channels the same gameplay style as the Vermintide games. Co-op FPS where you and several friends take on wave upon wave of monsters.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the successor to the Vermintide games. Happening 40,000 years after the ratman apocalypse known as The End Times, Darktide takes place in The End-est Times. In it you play as Imperial Guardsmen, soldiers from soldier planets who live for nothing but to die in a human wave attack against a minefield or something. Seems bleak. But so is everything in the 40k universe.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide follows several Guardsmen as they journey through a “hive city,” a megacity with hundreds of millions of people living within. But as the trailer shows, something has happened in this place that has corrupted the people, turning them into mindless zombies. “ heretical cult known as the Admonition seeks to seize control of the planet Atoma Prime and lay waste to its inhabitants.” Beyond this, the details are few. Perhaps a better Warhammer fan then me could fill in the details, but right now it looks like Left 40,000 Dead.
