They’re Coming Out of the Walls in Aliens: Fireteam
There are so many Aliens quotes I can fit into this article. I will try to restrain myself, but Aliens: Fireteam exists and looks rad.
Announced today, Aliens: Fireteam is a co-op third-person shooter that may remind a few people of Left 4 Dead (or possibly Back 4 Blood.) You and a group of friends will go through levels and do battle with Aliens, who jump out of walls, eggs, and other places Aliens jump out of. You’ll have several classes to play as, and also there’s plenty of enemies to do battle with. This even includes androids, just in case you think you won’t be shot at. Hopefully, this means you’ll survive until the end of the mission, but no promises there.
It’s actually a bit surprising that the game is finally seeing the light of day. Developer Cold Iron Studio was originally acquired by Fox in 2018 and put to work on the game. However, in 2020 Fox was acquired by Disney and, not wanting any video game studios, sold Cold Iron Studio to mobile publisher Scopely. In turn, Scopely sold them to Daybreak Games later that same year, the company behind EverQuest, H1Z1, and Planetside 2. It seems we’re finally getting the game they were made for.
While it’s game over man for this article, Aliens: Fireteam will release sometime this year for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S. You can add it to your wishlist here.
