Stalker 2 Gets New Trailer, Release Date
Early in the Xbox showcase we get to see Stalker 2: Hear of Chernobyl, the sequel to the popular open-world FPS.
The trailer started with the most Stalker thing you can imagine: Russian men sitting around a campfire and playing the guitar, while wearing gas masks. It then cuts to some combat, where we get to see the gameplay. A trip through the swamps is interrupted when a creature gets caught in an anomaly, causing it to be lifted from the ground and explode, something that’s rather impressive to watch. The whole trailer seems to be setting the perfect mood, one that captures the original game well while showing off some really neat gameplay moments.
Other moments includes the main character using a lightning gun to shoot his way through a group of enemies, which seemed to explode their bodies quite well. Another scene saw them facing off against a monster that would turn invisible. There’s also a meeting with a mysterious man who’s willing to give his life for the zone. It’s all very thematic. Additionally, the entire trailer is in Russian, which seems extremely appropriate. All told, I’m ready to wander out into the zone again. Thankfully, the trailer ended by giving me a date on which I would be able to do so.
Once the trailer was finished, we got a release date: April 22nd, 2022. Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S, along with Xbox Game Pass. You can check out the game’s official website to learn more.
