Song Of Horror Releases New Trailer Alongside New May 28th Release Date
I was sad when I heard that Episode 5 of Song of Horror was being pushed back to May 14th. This was back in February, before it was announced that all video games were canceled forever due to the Coronavirus. While sad that I would have to wait even longer to see the conclusion of this epic story, I was willing to wait. Song of Horror is an incredible game, but one that is marred with a few technical difficulties. Giving the small developer Protocol Games some more time to polish everything up is what the game deserves. So I was sad to once again find out that the game was being pushed back, this time because of the pandemic. Song of Horror Episode 5 will now release on May 28th. Luckily, we have a new trailer to tide us over.
Along with the new trailer are some more details on what to expect from this final chapter. From the Official Press Release:
From the horrors they’ve witnessed right through to the characters they’ve lost, the fifth episode of Song of Horror will finally tie all the story strands together into one clear thread, with players having to contend with The Presence, now stronger than ever before in a fully unleashed form.
The last chapter – dubbed “The Horror and The Song” – will serve as the player’s final opportunity to stop the cursed song from playing: Build a bridge into the past to change the dark future that awaits you, unraveling the origins of the eerie entity that refuses to let you go.
“We set out to both honour the big survival-horror games of old, and to bring something new to the genre at the same time,” says studio founder Carlos Grupeli on the emotional end to the game he’s been working on for the past six years. “It wasn’t easy but, in many ways, the fifth and final episode is the natural culmination of all that ambition, and the chapter where most is at stake. It’ll be sad to bring Song of Horror to a close after all this time, but we can’t wait to see what the fans make of it.”
Episode 5 will feature: –
- The former patients of Jeremy Hartwood Psychiatric Hospital now haunt its eerie hallways, enthralled by The Presence’s pull. Dive into the mind of the only person that listened to the song and survived to live another day through the unsettling memories of her doctor!
- Lidia properly joins the adventure! She is Daniel’s guardian angel and responsible for helping him overcome his alcoholism. Her selfless drive pushes her to help Daniel once again, this time with a different kind of problem.
- Witness the conclusion of your favorite characters and greet unexpected guests from the past. Their survival depends on your final actions in the story!
- A bone-chilling epilogue that changes everything. Song of Horror’s last verse holds the final key to the story. How and why are The Presence and The Song connected? Will The Presence prevail over your characters.
