Sci-Fi Computer Hacking Metrodvania Recompile Will be Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
It’s always good to see people are getting ready for the next generation of consoles. Indie developers are also doing so, and Phigames, developer of the upcoming Recompile, have announced that their game will also be hitting the next generation of consoles. This is in addition to the PC version, which is set to come out later this year.
The entire game takes place inside of a computer and over the course of one real world second. You play as a new, sapient, AI that needs to explore the digital landscape, adapt itself, and fight against the subroutines that have taken over the computer you were created in. All of this is in a goal to try and set the computer up to be reformatted. Naturally this means you’ll be doing battle with computer programs, hacking yourself some extra skills, and solving puzzles.
It all sounds rather interesting, and it helps that the game has some great visuals to go with it. The neatest part is that the main character is created with nothing but effects, which makes them stand out pretty well from the rest of the game. Of course, it helps that the rest of the game is lovely as well. From landscapes to enemies, everything in Recompile seems to be full of style, and it all makes for a game that simply looks excellent.
Recompile is set to come out later this year, and you can add it to your Steam wishlist here. Or you can wait and grab the game on your shiny new PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox Series X.
