Resident Evil: During The Storm Mod is Like an All-New Game
The Resident Evil community has an exciting new project on the way. The Resident Evil Classic Modding group recently released a new demo for their upcoming mod, Resident Evil: During the Storm. This is a complete overhaul of the classic Resident Evil 2. As producer Biohazard Declassified states:
it uses the engine and framework of the original Resident Evil 2 from 1998. However, rather than simply modify some of the elements while leaving the overall experience intact, Resident Evil: During the Storm instead will be bringing an entirely new experience to players.
Resident Evil: During the Storm takes place during, you guessed it, the storm. Experience the Raccoon city outbreak as it happens from the perspective of RPD officer Kevin Ryman (previously featured in Resident Evil Outbreak). Trapped in the middle of the first zombie crisis, you must work together with the remaining RPD personnel in order to save as many civilians from untimely undeaths as possible.
There are a number of new features to be seen in this mod. For one, this is the first Resident Evil to feature a timer. You’ll have limited windows to complete certain tasks, which means that you will need to choose which objectives to prioritize. This seems to be done for better replayability, as Resident Evil: During the Storm will have 8 “main endings” (unknown how many non-main endings there will be).
You can download the demo on Mod DB by clicking here. The mod will require you to have Resident Evil 2. For more information, you can read the full Resident Evil: During the Storm article on Biohazard Declassified/
