Remedy Confirms Control and Alan Wake are in the Same World, Gives the Time for AWE Gameplay Reveal
Recently the AWE expansion for third-person shooter Control got announced, and it’s coming out later this month. That’s already rad, since Control was a particularly awesome combination of third person shooting, awesome world building, and sweet telekinetic powers. So hearing there’s more of it? Many people are game. Now we get to know when we can see more, and other neat details.
In a post on their website, Remedy confirmed something we already figured: Control takes place in the same world as Alan Wake and that AWE will be the first piece of content to really tie the games together directly. Sure Control features a lot of notes and content referencing Alan Wake, but this is going to be a little more substantial than that. Remedy is even going ahead and calling this the start of the “Remedy Connected Universe.” The best part? Remedy also confirmed they’re currently making a third game also planned to be set in this universe. In an interesting and vaguely related note, recently an eagle eyed player belives they found The Oldest House, the place Control takes place, in 2010’s Alan Wake.
If you’re ready to see more of AWE you won’t have to wait long either. Remedy has also announced when they’re holding an event for players to see the first 15 minutes of the game. Taking place on August 13th, at 9am PST, you can go to Remedy’s Twitch channel where they’ll be playing the expansion. Make sure you’re there if you want to check it out.
As you may know, Control is a rad game, and it’s currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version being planned. If you’re going to nab the game, you can do so here. The AWE expansion launches on August 27th.
