Raid Dungeons in Your Retirement Years in Chronos: Before the Ashes
For a lot of people Remnant: From the Ashes was a pleasant surprise. For those that loved the world, there’s more coming. While the last bit of DLC may have just come out, THQ Nordic has more in store, with the newly announced prequel game Chronos: Before the Ashes.
Unlike the first game, Chronos isn’t a third person shooter. Instead it’s a dungeon crawler where you need to go through and explore a dungeon, solving puzzles and killing monsters. It may look familiar to fans of the Souls series of games, with lots of swords, magic, and mythical monsters to slay, as one does. You’re the chosen one, and the only person who can stop an anchient evil from destroying your home.
However, there’s a catch, as there tends to be. Every time you fail, you have to wait a year before entering the dungeon again. You can spend this year training to better prepare yourself, but there’s something important to note: your hero does get older. The more runs you do, the older you get, and the less you can rely on your physical skills to make it through. If you don’t want to literally get too old to raid dungeons and die, you better be careful with your next step.
While you may grow old and die while playing the game, you won’t while waiting for it. Chronos: Before the Ashes will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia on December 1st, 2020. You can add it to your wishlist here.
