New Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife Trailer Gives Five Reasons to Play the Game
It’s always exciting seeing more of World of Darkness come to video games, and the latest trailer for Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife makes it look like a solid entry for the first Wraith game.
The new trailer, which is notable for also being the first time we get to see the Oculus Quest 2 version of the game, shows off plenty of mechanics you can take advantage of. As a wraith, who’s already dead, you can make use of abilities like telekinetics and you have a camera that can take pictures of memories. You also have the ability to walk through walls, which seems useful considering the monsters you need to avoid. Yes, monsters, known as specters, are people trapped in the afterlife and twisted in horrifying ways. They want to kill you, as monsters do.
If you haven’t heard of the game before, Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is both the first game set in the Wraith subgenre of World of Darkness, and also the first VR World of Darkness game. The game has you playing as Ed, a photographer who is killed in the Barclay Mansion for mysterious reasons. The mansion is owned by a Hollywood director and is basically a shrine to his wealth, so its rather modern in design rather than the Gothic horror normal for this kind of genre.
Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is set to release some time in 2021. You can add the game to your wishlist here.
