Kid-Friendly Platformer HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: SCARY-TALE ADVENTURES Announced
A new game based on Sony’s hugely successful Hotel Transylvania franchise has been announced, and it looks like something younger players will love. Titled Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures, the project is being developed by Drakhar Studio, with Outright Games handling publishing duties alongside Bandai Namco. A brief announcement trailer has also been released online, and can be viewed below.
While no actual gameplay has been shown publicly, we do know that Scary-Tale Adventures will be a 3D platformer set in the movie’s universe, and that it will offers plenty of kid-friendly scares which should keep the little ones entertained. The plot will retell classic fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Emperor’s New Clothes, albeit with a spooky twist. Characters from the franchise will also appear throughout the game, so it sounds like fans are in for a treat. Although there’s currently no word on whether any of the actors from the films will reprise their roles for the game, so we’ll just have to wait until we hear more details regarding the project.
This isn’t the first game based on the Hotel Transylvania franchise. 2018 saw the release of Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard, an adaption of the third movie that took cues from the popular Pikman games. The same year fans also got Hotel Transylvania Popstic, a VR rhythm game where you need to hit lines along with the beat of a song. Also characters from the movies act as DJs.
If you have kids who love the franchise, it sounds like Scary-Tale Adventures will be a perfect gift when it arrives on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in October, just in time for Halloween. On the other hand, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, which will be the fourth and final film in the franchise, will open in wide release on July 23, 2021.
