Gotham Knights Lets You Be Someone Other Than the Bat
Its been a long time since Batman: Arkham Knight came out. A lot of people have been wondering when we can get our hands on the next Batman game. Well it seems like the answer is next year, as the newly announced Gotham Knights shows us what to expect.
While it’s still unclear if the game will take place in the Arkham universe or not, Gotham Knights starts with Batman sending out a general announcement to his Bat Family: he’s dead. Worse, Commissioner Gordan is dead too. So the safety of the city falls down to his four understudies: Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood. The four of them will team up and take out criminal elements, which seems to include the Court of Owls.
In the gameplay department, Gotham Knights is taking more after action RPGs than the other Arkham games. No longer will you sit in one spot and alternate between attacks and counters while sometimes using gear. Instead, characters will level up and unlock skills, while enemies have levels and health bars. Stealth is still an option and in the gameplay clip, we get to see Robin and Batgirl teaming up to take on Mr. Freeze. The developers noted that the entire game can be played in two-player co-op, and also that bosses will have new attacks depending on what level you are so they’re always a challenge. It looks like the game should be a good time for fans of the series.
If you’re ready to hang out with the Bat Family, Gotham Knights will be hitting PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X some time in 2021.
