Details Revealed for Latest Call of Duty’s Zombie Mode, Dead Ops Arcade Returning
The other day Activision said we would get details on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s zombie mode today. It seems they did not lie. Today we got plenty of details on what to expect in the next batch of zombie modes.
The zombie mode will take place on a new map called Die Maschine, which is set some time in the 80’s. There’s a batch of new characters, and they’re ready to fight zombies. You need to survive hoards of zombies while collecting points that you can spend on weapons, randomized perks, and other goodies to assist with your survival. None of this is that unusual, but Treyarch promises to continue the bizarre story of the zombies world by introducing an American organization called Requiem, and a Russian one named Omega Group.
As for the gameplay, the biggest new addition is the ability to exfil. If you think you’ve hit your limit for how many zombies you can face, you can call for an exfil chopper. This means the next round will see an extra dose of super powerful zombies to face off against, but should you survive you can escape on a helicopter. Do so, and you can get some rewards that you can bring into your next match. Additionally, weapons will now have a rarity rating, with rarer weapons doing more damage.
In addition to this, the Treyarch Twitter account put a quick tease. It’s a picture of an island with a 3 over it. Simply, this is the island from the Dead Ops Arcade minigames, which was a twin-stick shooter version of the zombie mode too place. It’s a minigame we haven’t seen since 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III, so it’s a nice return.
If you’re excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War then you can grab the game on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X on November 13th. You can preorder the game on Battle.net here.
