Obsidian Releases New Gameplay Video For The Outer Worlds DLC

Yesterday we got our first real look at the upcoming DLC for The Outer Worlds. The expansion, titled Peril on Gorgon, is the first content pack to be announced for the popular Obsidian title. This video for Gamescom featured one of the game’s quests, “Love is the Plan, and the Plan is Death.” A real mouthful, but kind of fits with the cosmic noir style of this DLC.

A mild spoiler alert for the Peril on Gorgon DLC, obviously. The video begins with a description of Gorgon, the asteroid and former industrious factory for Spacers Choice. Lots of people are coming to this place in search of valuable odds and ends, but many of them find something far darker. The gameplay walkthrough has much further (and really interesting) details as to the circumstances surrounding Gorgon, but I won’t go into it.

We do see some of the asteroid exteriors for Peril on Gorgon, as well as some new enemies and items. Most notably featured is a new melee science weapon, a flaming axe that has a gravity plate on the bottom. By swinging the weapon, and pointing the base at the enemy, you can draw them into range and finish them off quickly. Which in my opinion, should be a mechanic for every melee weapon of every game.
