Ultra-Indie Daily Dose: Hamilton Is A Bite-Sized Horror That In Fact Has Nothing To Do With Disney Plus
Hello, you glorious gluttons for all things indie horror! Are you just starving for the newest of the new, the most unknownest of the unknown? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Ultra-Indie Daily Dose! In this series, we’re going to pick a new game every day from an indie horror creator you’ve probably never heard of. No million-dollar budgets or factory productions. This is the space for the little guy with not but a developer toolkit and a dream. So if you’re down to roll the dice on something different, then stick around and check it out!
As far as bite-sized indie horror goes, this one’s definitely worth trying. Hamilton, no relation to the play, is a brief horror game by itch.io user November115. Clocking in at about 10 minutes long, Hamilton expertly establishes a fantastic atmosphere of dread. Also it’s free.
Hamilton takes place in the mysterious Hamilton Forest. The protagonist is in search of a woman (Child? Sister? Friend?), who disappeared after exploring the forest with her boyfriend. Having received no help from authorities, the protagonist ventures into these forbidden woods.
From there, well. You find out just why they’re forbidden. Hamilton has a nice little horror narrative, but since the game is 10 minutes long, it’s not really something I can go into. I’ll just say that it has some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Annihilation vibes.
You can try out Hamilton for yourself by following the link here. Remember, it’s free! This is the only game November115 has, but it’s a doozy, however minute it may be.
