Full-Length GOD OF WAR Documentary Details the Five-Year Resurrection of Kratos
In 2005, the PlayStation 2 saw the release of what would become one of Sony’s biggest exclusive franchises: God of War. An action/adventure hack and slash set in the world of Greek gods, mythologic beasts, and legends, gamers followed Kratos and his journey to rid himself of the guilt and anguish that, quite literally, stain his body. With over 27 million copies sold of all titles combined, God of War is one of the top-selling franchises of all time, not to mention one of the most respected, beloved, and critically acclaimed.
In 2018, Santa Monica Studio did what many thought to be impossible: they brought Kratos back and surpassed the expectations of, well…damn near everyone. It quickly became one of the top selling PS4 games of all time after only a month. It is one of the highest rated PS4 games ever released. It was nominated for dozens of awards, winning a large amount, including several “Game of the Year” accolades. God of War was a Herculean feat for a studio that spent years and millions to make it a reality. And now they want to share their story.
