I Expect You To Die 2 Launching this Summer
i Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar comes to SteamVR, Oculus Quest and Rift systems, and PlayStation VR headsets this summer. Developed by Schell Games, it’s the sequel to I Expect You To Die, a mixture of 60s science fiction and spy tropes.
Players can download a demo of the first mission via Steam on June 16. Headsets available for the demo include the Valve Index, Oculus Rift, Rift 5, and Quest platform with Oculus Link, AirLink, and Virtual Desktop. More devices will have support in the game’s full launch.
I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar starts out with the player surviving the end of the first game. It includes six new missions taking place around the world. They’ll need to utilize all their wits to stop Zoraxis’ plans to take over the world. Each mission, connected to the main storyline, will include its own set of puzzles, minor villains, and danger.
Wil Wheaton provides the voice for celebrity John Juniper, who will assist players throughout the game. I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar also includes a title theme song performed by singer and songwriter Puddles Pity Party.
I Expect You To Die 2 is a seated VR experience. It uses limited movement to help with motion sickness and disorientation stemming from using VR headsets. Accessibility was one of the primary focuses when developing I Expect You To Die 2.
Schell Games is a full-service entertainment and education game development studio based in the United States. Jesse Schell founded the company in 2002, and has moved into development of VR games. Their releases include Until You Fall, Happy Atoms, Mission: It’s Complicated, and HoloLAB Champions.
