Daymare: 1994 Announced For 2022 In New Trailer
In a move that came as a complete surprise to me, Invader Studios dropped the trailer for Daymare: 1994 today. The trailer shows a slow pan following a small ball of electricity through an abandoned industrial area. We’re then treated to a view of what I can only assume is the player character, charging up a futuristic suit of body armor. The camera then follows past the character to a waiting zombie. Suddenly, a large, alien-like creature infused with the electricity seen earlier attaches itself. The zombie then lets out a roar and we cut to the the official title. Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle.
While details are scarce at the moment, we’re left to assume that you will definitely be shooting zombies in this game. Whether Daymare; 1994 will stick to it’s third person, over-the-shoulder perspective is unknown. So far the only real details that we have, is that the game will take place in 1994 – 4 years earlier than it’s predecessor, making this a prequel. Fans wondering what may have happened at the end of the first game will be left waiting.
The release date given for Daymare 1994: Sandcastle is 2022. It can be wishlisted on Steam, and will be available on consoles as well. Initially starting out as a remake of Resident Evil 2; Daymare: 1998 was reworked after Capcom announced the official remake of Resident Evil 2. Daymare: 1998 has found a home amongst survival horror enthusiasts since it’s release in 2019. At this time, I’m not sure what the sandcastle part means in Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, but I’m excited to find out. In the coming months, as more information releases, I hope we get a solid answer.
