Darkest Dungeon Gets Even Darker With New Trailer For Upcoming Sequel
Red Hook Studios revealed today the first trailer for Darkest Dungeon 2. The announcement for the critically acclaimed series came in early 2019, but this comes with an estimated release date as well as some new information. A number of new updates were revealed in the Red Hook press release. The sequel will be “stylized in 3d,” with all new monsters and areas, and will feature many of the same companions from the original that you will send to their gruesome deaths in the howling unholy abyss.
For those unfamiliar, Darkest Dungeon is a roguelite turn-based dungeon crawler with heavy inspiration from Lovecraftian lore. You take the role of the sole inheritor of your family’s manor, which just so happens to be the place where the dark gods felt like visiting. In order to reclaim your ancestral home, you must recruit fighters damned enough to enter the madness, and strong enough to make it back still sane.
Darkest Dungeon 2 will be available sometime in 2021. There is little on it right now, but you will be able to purchase it from the Epic Games Store here. And for more information, check out the Red Hook website by clicking here.
