Paranormal Hunter Bringing Co-op Survival Horror to VR
Paranormal Hunter will come to Steam Early Access in Q2 2022, providing a co-op survival horror experience to VR devices. The launch will include full keyboard/mouse support and work with Oculus Rift, HTC VIve, Valve Index, and Windows Mixed Reality devices. It will also come to the PlayStation 4 and 5 and Nintendo Switch alongside the 1.0 release late next year.
Taking inspiration from Japanese horror, Paranormal Hunter will include optional VR support to create a truly immersive, terrifying experience. Explore haunted locations, either alone or with up to three of your friends. Tour abandoned hospitals, decrepit old houses, and more as you search for cursed objects to cleanse the site. Avoid various ghouls and frights while you search for clues. Stun your pursuers with UV light, but, be warned, it works only for a moment. Collect the cursed items and learn about the site’s background before cleansing it.
The spirits take inspiration from Japanese folklore and horror cinema. You’ll find many of the doors locked or blocked, forcing you to proceed carefully. Your Sanity is your best defense, after all, and you’ll have to conserve it to escape alive. As you complete hunts, you can purchase better equipment to tackle more dangerous haunts.
“We are pleased to announce Paranormal Hunter for consoles, PC and VR headsets. Although seeking out the supernatural is a daunting experience, playing with teams of friends makes searching for spirits as fun as it is frightening!”
