Doki Doki Literature Club Plus released its original version on Steam back in 2017. It became the top-rated game on Steam that year, and one of the top-rated titles of all time. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus added hours of additional content, expanding the game’s universe and exploring its themes.
In Doki Doki Literature Club, the player takes control of a student who joins his school’s Literature Club thanks to the influence of childhood friend Sayori. They also meet Yuri, Natsuki, and Monika, the club president. They begin to write poems and bond with the other members, but things soon take a turn for the horrific.
